CABARET – Reds under the Beds is a female activist cabaret that will have you laughing at your own follies, loving the music and tickling your conscience, all whilst enjoying good food, wine and company. Performing at the Mansfield Regional Produce Store, tickets are $49.00 per person which includes dinner and show. Bookings essential on 03 5779 1404.

HISTORIC EXHIBITION Month Of May – Visit the Mansfield Historical Society located in the old railway station and view their latest exhibitions. Memorabilia of Anzac Day and the past history of the railway in Mansfield will be on display, as well as a timeline of the town’s history beginning with our indigenous past. Open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11am – 3pm

What's on in Mansfield, May 2008 - Week 4

Saturday 24th May

GOURMET FOOD AND WINE – Gourmet Food and Wine Tasting at Kinloch Wines Taste five fantastic Kinloch Wines that will be perfectly matched with delicious gourmet canapés prepared by Mansfield’s Travis Boltong who was trained by the acclaimed Chef and restauranteur, Gordon Ramsay. This is a Mansfield Hospital Auxiliary fundraiser which will run between 4.30pm – 6.30pm at the picturesque Kinloch Winery. Tickets are available from Wallaby Ritz in Mansfield. JUNIOR GOLF FUNDRAISER – Mansfield Golf Club Junior Foundation Fundraising Weekend Open to players of all ages, this fundraising weekend sees golfers teeing off for a 4bbb Stableford on Saturday and a 2 person Ambrose on the Sunday. All members and visitors are welcome with green fees from this event being donated to the Junior Golf Foundation. To enter phone Neil on 03 5775 1218.

Sunday 25th May

CAFÉ CONCERT SERIES – The Arts Council of Mansfield, MMuDS and the Kookaburra Club present Dev’lish Mary with supporting act Joel Olver and Paul Riley. Dev’lish Mary are old time and western swing junkies from way back who have come together to play lively and energetic hillbilly and American roots music. When singing together these lasses create harmonies reminiscent of the Andrew Sisters. Commencing from 4.30pm in the Jamieson Community Hall. Friday 16th May

The Mansfield Produce Store is again hosting a BRACKET AND JAM session featuring Mansfield’s most popular live music. Jo Jo Smith, Alastair Pirie and a host of the best musicians from around the region will be cranking out the tunes. Dinner from 6.30pm with entertainment kicking off from 7.30pm. Saturday 17th May

GOOD VIBES CONCERT for Liam Bradley - A fundraising event not to be missed! With Tom Gleisner as compare and featuring performances by many of our renowned musicians, this is going to be a very special evening. Tickets are $40.00 per person and include finger food between 6.30pm – 7pm. The show commences at 8pm. Drinks available at bar prices. Tickets on sale from Wallaby Ritz and Libby’s Saddlery in Mansfield.

CRAFT AND FARMERS MARKET – Take the scenic 20 minute drive out to Tolmie and relax for breakfast in the surrounds of the Tolmie Sports Ground, browse the stalls and enjoy the last market until Spring. Pre-loved stalls are welcome. Phone Marg on 03 5776 2231.

Sunday 18th May

SUNDAY MARKET – Mansfield’s local Sunday market offers a variety of stalls from plants to bric a brac. Visit the friendly group of stall holders between 9am – 1pm on the median strip opposite the Mansfield Post Office under the Autumn trees. This is the last Sunday market until September. AFRICAN DRUMMING WORKSHOP – The Mansfield Rudolf Steiner School is hosting an African Drumming Workshop with Percussionist, Simon Fraser and Master Drummer from Mali, Mady Keita. Two workshops are available, 10.30 – 12.30 for beginners and 1.30 – 3.30 for advanced. Costs are $30.00 per workshop or $45.00 for both and concessions are available. Drum hire is also available. What's on in Mansfield, May 2008 - Week 2

Saturday 10th May

Want to know more about the community in Mansfield? The Mansfield Shire Connected Community FESTIVAL are getting the services and groups that support your community together on the median strip in High Street Mansfield from 10am until 3pm.

It's young talent time! The Step Up Youth MUSIC SHOWCASE will be featuring young musicians from around the Mansfield District. Check out the tunes from 11.30am to 1.30pm on the median strip in High Street Mansfield. Contact Sarah on 0408 385 992 for more info.

What's on in Mansfield, May 2008 - Week 1

Thursday 1st May
Check out the CHARITY GOLF DAY held at the Mansfield Golf Club. The tee off is from 7.30am. $30.00 green fees cover two course roast lunch, on course finger food and refreshments, and a BBQ dinner.

There's also a FREE PARENT WORKSHOP Celebrating Parenting – From 9.30am to 12.00pm at the Mansfield Community House.

Friday 2nd May
The Mansfield Boat Club is hosting an INTERNATIONAL THEME NIGHT at Goughs Bay. Get involved in the evening and bring along a Chinese style casserole or dessert.

Saturday 3rd May
For those interested in doing their bit to ensure we live in “A Sustainable World” get along to the EXPO that brings together businesses actively involved in creating an environmentally-friendly place to live.

WINE, CHEESE AND BEER TASTING - One for the foodies! Taste a range of wines, beers and cheese from Australia and abroad at the Jamieson Community Hall. Tickets are $25.00 per person and are available from the Jamieson Post Office on 03 5777 0502 and Mansfield District Hospital on 03 5775 2111.

Sunday 4th May
There's a BARBECUE FUNDRAISER at the Bonnie Doon Community Centre for the Bonnie Doon Hospital Auxiliary will put on a spread of meat, salads, slices, cake, tea and coffee. Proceeds to the Mansfield District Hospital. For more info call Pat on 03 5778 7258.
