Sunday 8th June
MARKET - Trash and Treasure Market. The Rotary Club Of Mansfield are holding their monthly trash and treasure market at the recreation oval in Highett Street, Mansfield from 8am – 12 noon. Come down and grab a bargain. Entry is by gold coin donation and all proceeds from this market will assist Rotary’s local charity efforts. For stall holder enquiries phone Tony on 03 5775 2468.

MARKET - Bonnie Doon Country Market and Car Boot Sale Held in the treed surrounds of the Bonnie Doon Community Centre in Arnot Street, Bonnie Doon between 8.30am – 1.00pm. Take the opportunity to purchase home made & local goodies, plants, local wines and produce, gifts and much more. Come along for breakfast and stay for lunch!

FUNDRAISER - Mansfield District Hospital Auxillary are holding a fundraising Bridge Day with all proceeds going to the hospital. Commencing at 10.30am in St John’s Church Hall in Mansfield, your $20.00 fee includes
morning tea and lunch. Make up a table of four and enjoy the day. Beginners very welcome.

DRAMA ENSEMBLE - Enjoy entertainment by Mansfield Secondary College’s years 11 and 12 Drama students at the Mansfield Performing Arts Centre. Two performances based on the theme “OVERPOPULATION” will each run for approximately 30 minutes with a supper break in between. Commencing at 7.30pm, entry is by gold coin donation. What's on in Mansfield, June 2008- Week 1

Sunday 1st June
COMMUNITY BREAKFAST - The Merrijig Hall is soon to be refurbished, so to give the hall it’s last hoorah and to celebrate the beginning of winter 2008, join the Merrijig Public Hall Committee for a ‘Welcome To Winter’ breakfast. Sausages, eggs, bacon, muffins, tea, coffee and orange juice are all provided. BYO champagne and glass. The committee’s motto is ‘We cook – You eat’ and everyone is welcome. Tuesday 3rd June
ARTIST BUSINESS WORKSHOP - Whether you work full time as an artist, or supplement your artistic career with other work, you canimprove your knowledge and skills at this free workshop. This program run by the Australia Business Arts Foundation includes presentations by industry experts, leading visual artists, gallery professionals and arts managers. It covers such topics as promotion and media, building relationships with clients and galleries, and business basics. The workshop runs from 9am – 5pm at the Mansfield Shire

Thursday 5th June
CLIMATE ACTION GROUP GATHERING - Mansfield Environment and Climate Action Group are holding a discussion evening on Solar power from 5.30pm at the Mansfield Regional Produce Store. A panel, including guests Paul Matthews from Solar Phase and Paul Cooney from Solarco, will discuss such topics as hot water systems, power and grid feed, pumps and hydronics and current information on Federal and State Government subsidies.

Friday 6th June
LIVE MUSIC - The Hunt Club Hotel in Merrijig are celebrating the Queens Birthday weekend with the popular band ‘Don’t Ask’. Come in early and relax in the ambience in front of the open fire whilst enjoying a meal from their new winter menu. The band will play from 9.30pm and entry is free. Saturday 7th June
BUSH MARKET - One of Mansfield’s largest and most popular Bush markets offering everything you could imagine. Local produce such as fresh breads, cakes, fruit & vegetables, nuts, seeds, jams, preserves & olives just to mention a few. There will be a number of local wines for tasting & purchase, art & craft, plants clothing, gifts and much much more. Numerous food & refreshment options available. BRIC-A-BRAC - Mansfield Masonic Lodge Ladies are holding a Bric-a-brac stall and Hamper Raffle in the Lodge foyer, Highett Street on Queens Birthday Bush Market Day. Lodge men will hold their usual sausage sizzle and wood raffle on the footpath outside.

DINNER DANCE - Dust off your dancing shoes, the Mansfield Boat Club at Goughs Bay is holding a Dinner Dance. Enjoy a scrumptious 2 course meal whilst being entertained by the ever-popular Dennis Tucker.
The evening commences from 7pm and costs are $25pp for non-members and $20pp for members.

MT BULLER OPENING WEEKEND - Opening weekend festivities kick off in the Mt Buller village square from 2.30pm. Children will enjoy entertainment by Barry the Pygmy-possum along with lots of other kids treats. Ice carvers, a live catwalk show, a fire and percussion show and entertainment by police band ‘Code 1’ are some of the highlights of the afternoon.
