CINEMANIA 1st, 2nd & 26th October – Workshops & Screening - Cinemania is a youth festival running as a part of the High Country Festival … it’s all about cinema. It all starts with the Cinemania workshop on the 1st & 2nd
of October, where young local people can make their own short film with a visiting cutting-edge, new-media
artist. The films will premier at several events in the High Country Spring Arts program as well as at the Hotel
Delatite on the 26th October from 7pm, where the hotel will be transformed into a huge lounge room for
young people, complete with couches & snacks. A feature film will follow. Entry fee is $5 pp. Workshop

LIVE THEATRE Friday 3rd October – Hothouse Theatre Production – ‘Lyrebird’ Tales of Helpmann - Welcome to the backstage world of Bobby, the dancer & actor who put the ham into Hamlet – the legendary (& infamous) Sir Robert Helpmann. Performed by Tyler Coppin, ‘Lyrebird’ is a visually extravagant & outrageously comic
portrayal of one of the world’s great characters. This portrayal is a deeply moving & entertaining insight into

MAYORAL CHARITY BALL Saturday 4th October – ‘Swing into Spring’ - You are invited to the scenic Pinnacle Valley Resort to ‘Swing into Spring’ at the Mayoral Charity Ball with a 9 piece ‘Big Band’ featuring Tom Martin. Guests will enjoy pre-dinner drinks & a sumptuous 3-course meal. Tables of 10-12 available & return transport from
Mansfield can be arranged. Tickets are $95 per head & proceeds raised will fund future community projects.

HERALD-SUN TOUR Thursday 16th October – Jayco Herald Sun Tour Stage 4 - One of the worlds oldest cycling races visits Mansfield & Mt Buller for the 4th stage of the competition. The finale to this 115km stage, which
commences at Alexandra, will see close to 100 international & domestic professional cyclists climb the

LIVING WELL WITH DIABETES Thursday 16th October to Thursday 20th November - A free 6 week information & self-management course for people with Type 2 diabetes. This course is run by a diabetes educator with specialists providing additional information on specific topics. Thursdays from 5pm - 7pm commencing the 16th October at the Delatite Community Health Service, 10 Bank Place, Mansfield. Bookings are essential on 03 5775 1933.

THE HIGH COUNTRY FESTIVAL
The High Country Festival is held over a 12 days leading up to & including the Melbourne Cup Weekend.
The focus of this popular festival is ‘Legends’, with High Country Huts, Horses & Legends of the High Country
providing scope for artists & performers, community groups & history addicts to create & discover new ways
to enjoy the High Country. Traditional events such as the Grand Parade, Fireworks Extravaganza, Spring
Arts Walk & the Picnic Races will be complimented by a program full of new events such as Horse Couture,
Shadow Puppet plays & a Melbourne Opera performance. Lots of fun & surprises for kids, art lovers & those

SPRING ARTS WALK Friday 24th October – Spring Arts Walk Opening Night - Starting at 6.30pm at the Hotel Delatite in Mansfield, tour the cafes with special theatrical hosts and view the amazing art work on display. Visit local
winery displays in the median strip & enjoy live music in the venues. The Spring Arts Walk continues daily

STUDENT ARTS IN THE GARDEN Saturday 25th – 26th October – View art works created by local primary school students which will be on display in the gardens at 108 Highett Street, Mansfield from 10am – 4pm. Free art workshops for children will run on both days at 12 noon.

artVision Saturday 25th October - Mansfield Spiritual Art Prize Exhibition - Exhibition opening, 11am at St John’s Church Hall, Highett Street, Mansfield. All welcome.

PORTRAIT ART PRIZE Thursday 30th October – The Mansfield Three Faces Portrait Art Prize will introduce 3 Artists to their subject for the first time. This is a night of mystery & fun where Artists will begin preliminary sketches/painting in front of a live audience. From 6.30pm at the Hotel Delatite. Free entry.

ART EXHIBITION Friday 31st October – Annual Art Exhibition - The Mansfield District Hospital Auxilary invites you to the opening night of the 32nd Annual Art Exhibition at the Masonic Hall, Highett Street, Mansfield from 6pm.
There will be a wonderful collection of artworks from both statewide & local artists, & the Rotary Art Prize
will be awarded by Judith Stoney at 7pm. Entry is $15 pp with tickets available from the Mansfield District
Hospital, members of the auxiliary & on the evening at the door. The exhibition will be open to the public
daily until 3rd November. Entry is $2 per adult with children FOC.

HIGH HATS AT HIGHTON MANOR Wednesday 3rd September – Fundraiser - Enjoy an afternoons viewing of the most fabulous hats modelled from the Jill Nolan collection. Enjoy afternoon tea & soak up the historic surroundings of Highton Manor in Mansfield.

“THE NIGHTCLUB” Friday 5th September – A Youth Event – The Alliance, Mansfield’s Youth Events Team, presents
“The Nightclub”. From 8pm to 11pm at St Mary’s Hall in Mansfield, this is an exclusive event for 12 to 17
year olds with local DJ’s & backlights – so wear white & get set to glow. This is fully supervised event

The Mansfield Musical & Dramatic Society (MMuDS) is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. Join us for drinks &
nibbles at the Mansfield Historical Society in the historic Old Railway Station to see MMuDS memorabilia
from the Mansfield Courier collection, old sets, costumes & an extensive collection of photos. Joan Tehan is
