Saturday 15th November – Mansfield’s 119th Agricultural & Pastoral Society Show, a day for the entire family to enjoy featuring a fantastic variety of events & competitions. Plenty of entertainment including wood chopping, sheep shearing, working dog displays, an animal nursery, reptile encounters, displays by the CFA, Police Force, the SES & much more. Week 1&2

Until Tuesday 4th November – The Spring Arts Walk exhibitions continue in café venues throughout Mansfield till November 4th. Sculpture, visual art, photography & textiles are some of the mediums used in this exhibition enabling artists to interpret the legends & spirit of the High Country. All artwork is for sale. Until Tuesday 4th November – The focus of this popular festival is ‘Legends’, with High Country
Huts, Horses & Legends of the High Country providing plenty of scope for artists and erformers,
community groups and history addicts to create and discover new ways to enjoy the High Country.
Traditional events such as the Grand Parade, Fireworks Extravaganza, Spring Arts Walk & the
Picnic Races will be complimented by a program full of new events. The festival continues until
Tuesday 4th November and concludes with the Mansfield Races. This Cup Day meeting is a major attraction and offers a full field with bookies & totaliser, fashions on the field, live entertainment & the Horse Couture Parade showcasing both horses and riders in wearable art. Saturday 1st November – This fundraiser for the Mansfield District Hospital sees teams of four,
dressed in hospital attire & using medical equipment, compete against each other on a course

Saturday 1st – 2nd November – The historic & beautiful town of Jamieson is holding an Art Exhibition over the Cup Weekend. On display will be the works of 7 artists showcasing a variety of different art through various mediums such as photography, ceramics & painting. The exhibition will run from 10am - 4pm in the Jamieson Community Hall with admission by gold coin donation to the local CFA.

Saturday 1st – Sunday 2nd November

Saturday 1st – The Saturday night dance is back! Dance the night away to your favourite D.J. - Chris Cross at the RSL Hall in Woods Point from 7pm. BYO drinks.
Sunday 2nd – Woods Point Bush Market from 10.30am – 1.30pm in Stewarts Reserve.
Sunday 2nd – The Woods Point Cup. Dress as a jockey and grab a make-do horse (mop, broom or tree branch). Be the fastest rider to complete the 200 metre course between the museum and the Hotel to get your name inscribed on the Woods Point Cup.

Saturday 1st – 3rd November – Mt Buller comes alive with the roar of engines as it hosts the High Country’s favourite motor sport challenge – the Mt Buller Sprint. Saturday 1st – 3rd November – Tim from The Howqua Hills Trader will run a daily service operating from 9.30am on Saturday, Sunday & Monday calling into camps between Fry’s Flat and Tunnel Bend delivering supplies such as bread, milk, ice, newspapers and more to campers. For special orders

Sunday 2nd November – Take the stunning drive out to Jamieson and stop off at the Jamieson

Sunday 2nd November – Maindample CFA is holding its 3rd annual High Country Heritage Day at ‘Tara’, Maroondah Hwy, Maindample from 11am – 6pm. The days events will include milking cows, shearing sheep both by hand & mechanically, butchering demonstrations, old truck & engine displays, horse shoeing, dog handling, family activities & lots more. What's on in Mansfield, October 2008

CINEMANIA 1st, 2nd & 26th October – Workshops & Screening - Cinemania is a youth festival running as a part of the High Country Festival … it’s all about cinema. It all starts with the Cinemania workshop on the 1st & 2nd
of October, where young local people can make their own short film with a visiting cutting-edge, new-media
artist. The films will premier at several events in the High Country Spring Arts program as well as at the Hotel
Delatite on the 26th October from 7pm, where the hotel will be transformed into a huge lounge room for
young people, complete with couches & snacks. A feature film will follow. Entry fee is $5 pp. Workshop

LIVE THEATRE Friday 3rd October – Hothouse Theatre Production – ‘Lyrebird’ Tales of Helpmann - Welcome to the backstage world of Bobby, the dancer & actor who put the ham into Hamlet – the legendary (& infamous) Sir Robert Helpmann. HERALD-SUN TOUR Thursday 16th October – Jayco Herald Sun Tour Stage 4 - One of the worlds oldest cycling races visits Mansfield & Mt Buller for the 4th stage of the competition. The finale to this 115km stage, which
commences at Alexandra, will see close to 100 international & domestic professional cyclists climb the

Commencing Monday 4th August - The Department of Primary Industries is conducting a
Whole Farm Planning course at the DPI office in Mansfield. The course aims to assist all land
managers in developing a property plan with topics including paddock subdivision, shelter, water
supply, habitat, pest/weed control, fire protection, livestock needs, soil conservation, land degradation
and water budgets. The course runs one day per week for 4 weeks and includes an aerial photo of
your property, new resource folder, course materials and guest speakers. The cost is $300 per

Sunday 13th and 20th July - Star Glen Lodge in Bonnie Doon invites you to a sumptuous 3-course
Christmas lunch with all the trimmings & ambience of a Christmas in July affair. The Lodge will be

Friday 4th July – Mark Adams Ski Race and Golf Challenge Fundraiser
Gather a group of four and join in for all the fun of this annual fundraiser. Kicking off on Mt Buller from
8.30am where your team will do 2 runs down an easy short course before heading down to the
Mansfield Golf Club for a BBQ lunch and a midday tee off for an afternoon on the course. All inclusive
