MT BULLER OPENING WEEKEND CELEBRATIONS Saturday 6th June – The fun filled festivities kick off from 4pm on Saturday in the heart of the Mt Buller Village with the Code One Police Band, Pyroptix fire and percussion show, Barry the Pygmy Possum performances and a range of activities that will entertain the whole family. As night starts to fall, make sure you have a good seat, as the weekend culminates in a spectacular light show. NEW YEAR’S DAY RACES Thursday 1st January – Kick off 2009 with a day out at the Merton Picnic Races. Plenty of fun for everyone with Fashions on the Field, Bookmakers, local wines, a Publicans Booth (BYO is also permitted), light refreshments and kids activities. This is an entertaining day for the whole

Mt Buller has been chosen to host the inaugural Australian All Tomorrows Parties music festival.
All Tomorrows Parties events are renowned for their eclectic and unique lineups and Mt Buller
promises to be no exception. Heading the line up is arguably the most significant Australian
export of the last twenty years, NICK CAVE & THE BAD SEEDS, with very special guests The

CATTLEMAN’S GET TOGETHER Friday 9th – Sunday 11th January – The Mountain Cattleman’s Get Together is coming our way this year. Head out to Buttercup Road in Merrijig for the Reunion of the Cracks from the Man from Snowy River movies, including Tom Burlinson, Sigrid Thornton and other cast
members. There is a huge list of events such as the Cattleman’s Cup, Packhorse
Championships, Bucking Bull, Wood Chop, Heritage Displays, Johnny the Bull - and these are
just to name a few. There will be some great fun stuff for the kids too. Enjoy evening entertainment
with the Aaron Daniels Band who will perform a blend of rock & blues over two nights. The
weekend will wind down to the sounds of local musician Sean Cartlidge. Full bar facilities and

Sunday 1st June
COMMUNITY BREAKFAST - The Merrijig Hall is soon to be refurbished, so to give the hall it’s last hoorah and to celebrate the beginning of winter 2008, join the Merrijig Public Hall Committee for a ‘Welcome To Winter’ breakfast. Sausages, eggs, bacon, muffins, tea, coffee and orange juice are all provided. BYO champagne and glass. The committee’s motto is ‘We cook – You eat’ and everyone is welcome. Tuesday 3rd June
ARTIST BUSINESS WORKSHOP - Whether you work full time as an artist, or supplement your artistic career with other work, you canimprove your knowledge and skills at this free workshop. This program run by the Australia Business Arts Foundation includes presentations by industry experts, leading visual artists, gallery professionals and arts managers. It covers such topics as promotion and media, building relationships with clients and galleries, and business basics. The workshop runs from 9am – 5pm at the Mansfield Shire

Thursday 5th June
CLIMATE ACTION GROUP GATHERING - Mansfield Environment and Climate Action Group are holding a discussion evening on Solar power from 5.30pm at the Mansfield Regional Produce Store. A panel, including guests Paul Matthews from Solar Phase and Paul Cooney from Solarco, will discuss such topics as hot water systems, power and grid feed, pumps and hydronics and current information on Federal and State Government subsidies.

DINNER DANCE - Dust off your dancing shoes, the Mansfield Boat Club at Goughs Bay is holding a Dinner Dance. Enjoy a scrumptious 2 course meal whilst being entertained by the ever-popular Dennis Tucker.
