RELAY FOR LIFE Saturday 10th October – Sunday 11th October - The fifth Mansfield Relay For Life will take place from 12.00noon on Saturday until 12.00noon on Sunday at the Mansfield Showgrounds in Mt Battery Road. 18 teams will participate in this 24-hour event which raises funds for cancer research, education and patient support. All are welcome – this is a community event and we encourage you to come along to support the Relay For Life teams. Enjoy live music and lots of fun activities including the ‘Mansfield Gift’ foot races, kids karaoke, face & plaster painting, a boxerfit class, jump rope and hand ball with members of the Mansfield Footy Club.
GALA BALL Saturday 10th October – Dance the night away at our inaugural Merton Amateur Turf Club Gala Ball to be held at the Merton Airfield hanger at 7pm. Sunday 1st March – Join us at the Mansfield Golf Club for a 9-hole Evening Golf Event. This fundraiser, hosted by the Mansfield Hospital Auxiliary, is a three person Ambrose hitting off at 4.30pm sharp.
Great fun, great prizes. Entry fee is $25 per player or $15 for non players, includes the Baron of Barjarg’s Roast Smoked Beef, salads & home made sweets. MERRIJIG Saturday 7th March – An annual event not to be missed, this years Rodeo will be packed with thrills & spills & bulls & steers to excite. With program favourites such as the Saddle Bronc, Bareback Bronc, Barrel Races, Team, Breakaway and Steer Roping Events as well as the Local Steer Ride and Junior Steer Ride, there will be plenty of entertainment for the entire family. AUSTRALIA DAY CEREMONY & AWARDS Monday 26th January – Join in the Australia Day celebrations from 8.30am in High Street Mansfield. The day kicks off with a sausage sizzle, champagne breakfast & live entertainment.
At 9.00am David Roff, Mansfield Shire’s Chief Executive Officer will welcome the Australia Day
Ambassador, Dr Stephen Silk and the official party, and will announce proceedings. Following
this will be the Mayor, Cr Sandie Jeffcoat’s official welcome. Citizenship Ceremony and
